CASSIA HILL RESORT
Cassia Hill Resort Limited was first build in 1987, by the original owners, Lourdes & Bobby Hales. Windy Hill Resort Ltd., as it was once known for over 25 years, was a family owned and operated business and built a reputation for offering the finest in Belizean Hospitality.
In 2012 Bobby and Lourdes were ready to retire and put the property up for sale. A Guatemalan investor bought the property in 2012 and a few years later, in 2017, Jonathan Lohr a well-known real estate broker and business man along with his wife Christie and their three beautiful children, became the new owners of this amazing piece of real estate. For reasons beyond their control, Christie and Jonathan saw the need to change the name from Windy Hill Resort to Cassia Hill Resort.
Cassia Hill, a full-service Belize Resort, sits on a 90-acre property located just outside of San Ignacio Town, amidst rainforest trails, fruit trees and beautifully landscaped tropical gardens. The resort consists of 20 private rooms and cabañas, dining room, bar, gift shop, and swimming pool. The primary advantage of this resort is being strategically located right in the center of the greatest tour destination that Belize has to offer; including Maya Temples, ceremonial caves, rainforests trails, waterfalls and pristine jungle rivers.
Since January of 2018 when Jonathan and Christie officially assumed ownership, they have been constantly upgrading key areas of the resort including the accommodations, restaurant & bar, swimming pool, and reception area. In the short period as owners, they have been working relentlessly to improve what they found. They are dedicated to improving all areas of the resort and have recently completed upgrades to all the outdated, standard rooms and converted them into spectacular Premier Villas. They have redesigned a new parking lot and front desk area; they have also added a new bar by the pool side with a lounge area for their guests. New walkways and gardens have now been completed.
Jonathan and Christie along with their dedicated team are proud to continue offering some of the finest in Belizean Hospitality, creating memorable vacations for their guests, while supporting the local community in employing approximately twenty full-time employees.
