Caracol & Big Rock Falls
Caracol “shell or snail “is located deep within the Chiquibul forest reserve in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. This archaeological site dates back to the classic period, being one of the most important regional political centers of the Maya Lowlands. Caracol covered approximately 200 sq. Kilometers and supported more than twice the modern city’s population.
This amazing Site is the largest in Belize boasting 53 carved monuments, and more than 250 burials. Caracol features the highest temple in Belize, Ca’ana or sky place, measuring 140 feet from plaza level.
Atop temple Ca’ana, you experience a 360 degrees scenery of the jungle below while your guide educates about the great significance it represented to the ancient civilization.

Big Rock Falls is a150 foot waterfall on the Privassion River in the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve.
